Ryan Nelson and I sat down and improvised five songs in my room in the basement at Adams Street. The only available cassette I had to throw in the Tascam to record this event was a mixtape of rockin' love songs Jimmy Askew had found at a Goodwill. This tape had the words "Olive Juice" written large on one side, so that became the name of this project. We played one show with the Sorts at the Galaxy Hut later that fall. Using the Wurlitzer electric piano this way along with drums eventually led to me starting The Aquarium a year later with Laura Harris.
